Spray painting review Fat Caps

The ones on the left are fat caps the ones on the right a skinny caps

In my model Prep tips part two I talk about fat caps. I bought some sampler pack to try and well I did some quick testing of which cap will work with what brand of paint I use . I had some issues with different caps an brands mostly Rust-oleum but man when you get the right cap with the right brand and it is a whole new ball game laying down primer.

I really like the orange dot left picture top left corner  that is a nice spray pattern  with Krylon and Color place.I am still working with the skinny's if they work on army painters brand of spray primer I will use them to do a lot of base coating

Conclusion
all in all the caps make a difference with the right combination it will lay down the primer really nice.
I haven't had any luck with these caps and Rust-oleum

Landspeeder Storm up date.

I have finished painting the faces of the land speeder scouts I am working out how to  magnetize them so they can be put on a base. With my new classes schedule and amount of work I have to do in a short time it is consuming my life, I am sure after another week I will  fall in the rhythm of it but this week has all but stopped me in my tracks .

Painting Mixing Pots

Picture 6now and then  just sitting there  doing every day normal things like eating breakfast at the local dinner Bam!!
I see some thing and my brain see things in another light.
Eating breakfast at the local dinner fixing up my coffee I empty a creamer in my coffee as I look at the little creamer cup mind goes back to the tattoo's I have gotten and watching them being done … if you haven’t had or seen one being done they have thimble sized cups to put the ink in.  Then my brain rushed me to wasting paint by mixing it on a plastic plate and not having any real way  to cover and or save the paint I  just mix for large batches. I could use empty paint pots or bottles ( new to the hobby don’t have any empty's) .Here is what I came up with the little creamer cups you get at most dinners or restaurants. With that being said I use folk art craft  paints (a dollar for 2 oz) they tend to be thick so they need to be thinned so this make a perfect way to make batches of a color for me little Saran Wrap and it stays good that for a while.

Painting Tip

I read this priming tip over at Berks Warhammer 40K: 40K Tips: Drink Lots of Water (and save the bottles) I tried Inquisitor Lord Aki tip it was nice idea .
It worked nice I did not get paint on my hands when spraying. When  I tried to paint with a brush the bottle was to big to hold  and the cap was a little small for me to hold comfortably.
I was  on  the hunt to to find the replacement to the water bottle and I found it
right in my medicine cabinet there where a few pill bottles that where about to be thrown out so I saved them. here they are in action.

Now do not take you mom, dad, grandma’s or any one medication and remove it from the bottle  just so you can use it wait until it is empty.
by all means do not  take medicine that is not prescribed to you. I am throwing that one in there just in case

Edit:2-25-2010
I added a little sand to the bottom of each on to give a little weight just so it felt nice in my hand
I have shaky hands if i am holding  some that is light or nothing at all
